I’m Every piece of clay can be used again. Clay recycling process is generally easy and have few steps. Every step is possible in a studio or in a kitchen.
STEP 1
All the time remember about collecting clay into a bucket. Every dry piece and waste during cleaning can save some money for new material and help when parcel is late. In UK pottery shops have long delivery time. So you can have own stuff.
STEP 2
Just put to the pot dry elements. Bigger elements should be broken on smaller. Add water: pour enough water to cover all the pieces. Leave it for 48 hours ang sing the song…

STEP 3
In the meantime, make a plaster top for drying the clay. More about it in separate post. Maybe you have own already.
STEP 4
Mix clay with water in the pot. You can use a drill with mixed or… own hands. If consistency is to dry you can add some water. Please do it slowly, don’t add to much.
Put clay clay mass on the plaster top. The top will absorb unnecessary water. You must control this process.
STEP 5
Knead clay as usual but remember. If you had mixed clay in the bucket, then clay can have different properties. The best make a small try before firing bigger pieces.
